A Walk with Jane was featured in an article in Pubishers Weekly's Religion BookLine email newsletter yesterday:
New Spiritual Memoir Follows Favorite Author
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a publisher in possession of a good frontlist must be in want of a book on Jane Austen.Or so it would seem this year, when a wave of Austen books and films promises to keep literary fans happy. Alongside book club darlings like Laurie Viera Rigler's Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict (Dutton, Aug.) come two 2007 Austen-themed films and, next year, Masterpiece Theater's ambitious plan to air television adaptations of all six Austen novels. Pass the crumpets, please. (...)

How many copies have been sold thus far?

Unfortunately, I can't tell. I won't get numbers from the publisher for a couple of months yet. (which doesn't stop me from obsessively checking my Amazon rankings, although I'm not entirely sure what they mean!)

Hi Lori. I'm reading your book and love it! Would love to do an interview with you if you are doing blog interviews. My "in" is that Jeanette Thomason is my editor. ;-)
Many blessings!

Lori,
Just finished your book. Was so happy to find someone else who struggles with the whole "Christian's must me happy, in spite of circumstances" thing like I do. I also struggle with several different physical issues (i.e. depression, chronic pain) and get really irritated with some of the Christian writer's who imply that what I feel is wrong. I think that God is big enough to handle our doubts our railings and our fear. It took me a long time to come to that conclusion. A lot longer that it did you. I'll be forty in June. I didn't struggle with the single issue as you have, but then I didn't always follow the "rules". I will pray that you will someday meet someone as wonderful as my husband. He's not perfect, but I we've been married for 16 yrs and I would do it again if I had it do over.
I guess that I should mention the "Austenian" parts of the book. I did enjoy that. I am a baby Austen lover. I've always liked the movies, but have just recently started reading the books. I sometimes have a hard time pushing through the verbose language of the time, but am always glad when I do.
I am definately going to put you on my list of "Authors to read" . Looking forward to your next work
Sincerely,
Shannon Combs

Thanks so much, Shannon! Imho, the easiest one to read is Pride & Prejudice. I actually have a tough time with Emma and Mansfield Park, but don't tell anyone! ;-)
