I was debating about whether to post this now or wait until Sunday, but my thoughts on Mansfield Park have been posted over on the PBS.org blog, Remotely Connected. I was thrilled to be asked to do this. Check it out now, or wait until Sunday night and weigh in with your own opinion.
Fanny Price is a ninny. (Forgive me, dear Jane.) I’ve tried to like her and I can’t.
When I was first asked to blog about Mansfield Park, the editor mentioned that she saw “such similarity” between me and Fanny. I had to stop to consider whether or not that was an insult. (...)

Your review is lovely - and brave. Knowing how a majority of confirmed Janeites feel about the movie, you forged on with your own opinion, which is more valid and knowledgeable than most. I must admit that the first time I watched this adaptation I hated it. The second time I started to warm up to it. Now that I have seen it three times, I can understand why people prefer this production to others. However, does the movie resemble anything remotely like the plot Jane wrote or intended? No.
Congratulations, by the way, for your endorsement by Today's Christian Woman.

Lori!
I haven't seen the Masterpiece Mansfield Park yet - but I just soldiered through the book - today I finished it. I really can't like Fanny Price either. I actually at times was feeling sympathetic for Mary Crawford. Thanks for the review!
